In Nova Scotia, we have a problem called clearcutting.
It ruins the woods and it's out of control. Since the early 1990s clearcutting
has claimed over 500km2 of Nova Scotia’s forests every year.
Industry insists the practice "just looks bad". The government is apathetic.
This website takes aim at clearcutting. Something CAN be done. Find out
more about selection harvesting and market driven wood certification, follow
our links to logging contractors who won't rip your land to pieces, see
the effects of clearcutting from the air, or join in on the discussion.
